James Apicella
James Apicella - Solar Energy Provider and Former Marine
A former member of the U. S. Marine Corps, James Apicella serves as a field sales consultant for Sunrun, a solar energy company in Boston. After generating leads, James Apicella makes in-home presentations in which he evaluates customers’ energy needs. He follows each sale through closing to installation and conducts follow-up visits. In his first 28 days with Sunrun, he made his 60-day goal, saving homeowners an average of $60,000 over a 25-year term.
Previously, Mr. Apicella served several tours of duty as a Marine squad leader. His team was tasked with providing infantry support with rocket launchers and demolition systems. His squad deployed to Japan and the Philippines to allow other forces to participate in Operation Enduring Freedom.
Before and after his overseas service, Mr. Apicella earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Southern Vermont College, where he ran cross-country and played rugby. He was named an NCAA Athlete of the Week three times.
Like many Marines, Mr. Apicella has been an active volunteer for Toys for Tots. An accomplished runner, he has completed the Boston, Baystate, and Marine Corps marathons, as well as placing third on a military team for Reach the Beach in 2023. This experience led to his serving for four years as a product tester for Reebok. In his spare time, Mr. Apicella enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, boating, and fishing.
